Hi,
the update of the qgis user and administration guide is almost finished and we
extended it from 110 to 160 pages with many updates, new examples and
new chapters from the QGIS workshop, Gary Sherman presented at FOSS4G last
month.
Before we tag the guide and start prepairing the translation branches, a final
review of the english version is needed and I would like to ask, if some of you
(probabaly native speakers) could help and go through the document within the
next days and fix miss spellings and errors. You don't have to care about where
figures appear etc, just the spelling is important.
Therefore you could checkout the lates user_guide as a guest here:
svn co https://svn.qgis.org/repos/qgis_docs/trunk/english_us/user_guide
then:
cd user_guide
make (or make pdf)
I also prepaired a draft PDF here:
http://www.nature-consult.de/dassau/qgis/20071022_draft_user_guide.pdf
If you don't have write access to the repostory you could send me your
corrections in a list and I will commit it to the svn trunk. Therefore just add
the name of the .tex file you work on and the line number.
As I said, we plan to finish it the next days, so I propose Thursday night as a
deadline, because it shouldn't be too much work (just a review) and I would
like to provide the new user guide et the end fo the week.
If you are interested and have some time, just write a short email to the list
and maybe tell us what chapters you can review, so we can split the work on the
list. A good idea to get involved with the documentation process and follow
its progress is to subscribe to the Documentation mailing list:

regards,
Otto
